Overview
During this short Safari of 4 days, you will be able to visit two National Parks for different occasions which will be interesting and full of fun. These areas include Mgahinga and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you will trek Golden monkeys in Mgahinga and learn a secret why are they called so.
You will come across the Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi which are the third primate apes to humans after chimpanzees as they share 96% DNA of humans also visit one of the interesting cultures the Batwa people and hear amazing stories from their elders. Different beautiful bird species are to be recorded for the case of bird lovers, butterflies and other wild animals plus beautiful sceneries.
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Mgahinga National Park
Immediately as you arrive at the airport, you will meet your Safari guide who will briefly narrate to you how the Safari will move then embark on your journey and drive heading to Mgahinga National Park. You will have a stopover at Kayabwe Equator Point for lunch break which will also include taking photos, visiting the nearby craft shop to buy some souvenirs and later proceed to check in with the booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay in Mgahinga.
Day 2: Golden monkey trekking, drive to Bwindi
On day 2 of your Safari you will wake up, have your breakfast then after drive to the park office to meet a guide who will lead you for the walk. You will encounter how these primates live in their communities, how they bond their relationship by grooming each other like other primates and apes, enjoy as they jump from one tree branch to another as the young ones make fun together or with their mothers and many more. You have a high chance of spotting other primates apart from the Golden monkeys, for example, the varvet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many others including beautiful birds.
Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park after your picnic lunch to catch up with trekking hours the next day morning. Check-in with the booked lodge for dinner and stay for a night.
Day 3: Mountain Gorillas trekking, cultural experience
Mountain Gorillas are an endangered species which is amazing and interesting as they share 96% DNA of humans that you should not miss seeing while on your Safari to Uganda. Therefore, this morning you will wake up as early as possible and have your well-prepared breakfast then after the drive heading to the park office to represent your trekking permit and be grouped. The ranger guide will brief you about the field including both the Dos and Don’ts of the forest. He will probably lead you into the jungle in search of Gorillas and having a chance to trek them you will learn more with the help of your Park ranger guide.
After trekking retreat to the starting point to meet your Safari diver guide and drive back to the lodge for your lunch as you prepare for the afternoon activity. Arise early morning for your last breakfast in Bwindi impenetrable National Park and drive for another amazing and interesting activity the Batwa forest walking trail.
These trails are very popular and well-known as the trails that the Batwa people used to pass through during their time of hunting, food gathering, and collecting herbs as they were still living in the forest. During this walk, many stories about Batwa will be narrated by the local guide, and a lot of different beautiful bird species are to be recorded, including butterflies and many others. After such an amazing experience your drive guide will probably drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Batwa Community Walk and departure
You will drive directly to a community project office where you will interact with the local guide to lead a community walk where you will visit the Batwa people and get a chance to hear stories from elders as they narrate for you stories about how they used to survive while in the, the food they used to eat, their cultural dance and music whenever they could be happy and many more.
After such an adventure, you will drive back to the lodge for an early lunch and then embark on your way to Kampala. You will be dropped off at the airport or hotel by your Safari guide according to the agreed location and the time of your flight.
